I watched this at the cinema when it was first released. It is fantastic. The storyline is similar to that of the original film starring Joey Wong and Leslie Cheung.
I have been looking for the VCD of this film for a long time but could not find it. This is a typical never-never love story between a scholar and a beautiful female ghost he encountered on his journey. She uses herself as bait to lure male humans into the hands of her master who is a tree spirit. The master needs the life forces from male humans to enhance his own powers and stay young. The female ghost fell in love with the scholar and she changes her mind about giving the scholar up as a sacrifice for her master. When she saved the scholar from the grasp of her master, she had to flee the ghost village herself. The final battle which involves the master and his army is brilliant. A good versus evil type of film. Great watch if youx27;re a fan of chinese stories.
